Norwich’s Darren Webster had another successful weekend in the 7th & 8th Players Championships held in Birmingham. Webster reached the quarter final stage before losing to the World No 6 Wes Newton 6-5. The weekends performance left Webster provisionally qualifying for the World Matchplay in Blackpool. For a man who has only just returned to the game after a 3 year absence to qualify for such a prestigious event as the Matchplay will be a magnificent achievement. Webster along with the other JBD darts players will now fly out to Berlin to play in the 2nd European Tour event with the hope of building on the success of the last few weeks.
